Chocolate Protein Bites
Great pre- or post-workout for a quick source of energy!
- 1/3 cup raw walnuts or pecans any nut can work and you can sub seeds for allergies
- 1/2 cup rolled oats gluten free
- 1/3 cup pitted dates
- 1/3 cup natural unsweetened peanut butter any natural nut or seed butter could work, unsweetened
- 1/8 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate flavored protein powder I used Ascent Plant Protein, can sub whey isolate if dairy is tolerated
- 1/3 cup water
Add nuts and oats to food processor. Pulse till you get coarse crumble.
Add dates, nut butter, salt and protein powder. Pulse again till mixture comes together.
Add water one tablespoon at a time (might not need full amount, depending on the protein you use). Mixture will be a bit sticky but should hold together when you squeeze between hands.
Roll into 24 bites using a teaspoon to scoop out batter. Store in a air-tight glass container in your fridge. Enjoy!
