Chocolate Protein Bites

Great pre- or post-workout for a quick source of energy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup raw walnuts or pecans any nut can work and you can sub seeds for allergies
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats gluten free
  • 1/3 cup pitted dates
  • 1/3 cup natural unsweetened peanut butter any natural nut or seed butter could work, unsweetened
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate flavored protein powder I used Ascent Plant Protein, can sub whey isolate if dairy is tolerated
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Add nuts and oats to food processor. Pulse till you get coarse crumble.
  • Add dates, nut butter, salt and protein powder. Pulse again till mixture comes together.
  • Add water one tablespoon at a time (might not need full amount, depending on the protein you use). Mixture will be a bit sticky but should hold together when you squeeze between hands.
  • Roll into 24 bites using a teaspoon to scoop out batter. Store in a air-tight glass container in your fridge. Enjoy!
